Emerald Lake Lodge is a 20 minute drive west of Lake Louise in Yoho National Park (2.5 hours from the Calgary International Airport). See the detailed directions below for your best way to get here!

Directions to the lodge

Given its secluded location and our commitment to providing guests with a peaceful and relaxing experience, there is no parking (or vehicle traffic) on the main island, but our process ensures a quick and comfortable ride to the main lodge:

Step 1

Take the Trans Canada Highway heading west towards Field and Golden, BC.

Step 2

The turnoff to Emerald Lake Lodge is located 1km west of Field, BC.

Step 3

Follow the road for 8 km until you see a sign that says ‘Overnight Guest Parking.’ Turn left into the parking lot.

Step 4

In the parking lot is a cabin. Use the telephone in the cabin to call our front desk.

Step 5

A shuttle will be sent to pick you up and bring you to the main lodge.

Transportation

For transportation from Calgary to the mountains, and around the mountain areas, please contact Banff Transportation.

For current conditions view our Lodge Cam which overlooks Emerald Lake, as well as  webcams placed throughout Banff and Lake Louise.

Anyone entering the parks must purchase a park pass. Find out more from the Parks Canada website.

To purchase a Park Pass, please visit the Banff National Park Gate or one of the Visitor Centres.
