Divino Wine and Cheese Bistro
Divino - Downtown Calgary Restaurant

Divino Wine & Cheese Bistro

Divino Wine & Cheese Bistro, part of Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts family of companies, originally opened in 1984 as a quaint 30 seat restaurant, located in downtown Calgary’s iconic Grain Exchange building. Divino has since relocated to the historic Calgary Wine and Spirits building on Stephen Avenue Walk (8th Avenue SW). The bistro features an energetic weekday lunch hour, and is bustling throughout the evening with theatregoers and international visitors.  The restaurant also has two private rooms for their social corporate clients, which host cocktail parties, corporate meetings and intimate dinners-completing a three floor restaurant that is alive with activity.

Inspired by traditional bistros that have thrived for decades in New York City, Divino has merged modern décor with pure cuisine and a comforting yet energetic bistro atmosphere. Featuring the same wood-burning grill found at Gramercy Tavern in New York City, along with an extensive international wine and cheese program, the restaurant has successfully integrated the distinctive American bistro style into Western Canada.

Our chef John Donovan, along with our executive chef of Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts, Alistair Barnes, has created a menu that embraces the heritage of America’s grand bistros.

Focusing on only the highest quality of local products, Chef Donovan proudly offers naturally raised game from CRMR’s own Alberta game ranch.

The room, the food, the drink, the people- Divino offers a unique atmosphere that is diverse and comfortable.  Whether you are looking at hosting a corporate event, have time for a quick glass of wine on your way to the theatre, or searching for that perfect location for a first date, Divino sets the scene perfectly, and continues to be one of downtown Calgary’s most successful restaurants.
